Join this seven-day journey and visit some of the most beautiful wildlife areas to be found in Belgium. Discover the animals that have made this place their habitat, like deer and foxes in the High Fens, or birds and seals in the Polder region in the north. And don’t forget to capture the urban wildlife in our country’s capital city.

Itinerary for wildlife tour

Day 1

High Fens

The days kicks of with the High Fens. It is one of the only remaining truly wild places in Belgium. Here you can find rutting red deer, foxes and many birds.

Day 2

Brussels

On the second day, we will take our trip to Brussels. This might not be the place you expect to see on a wildlife tour, but with its abundance of food and proximity to forests, you would be surprised by what you can find.

Day 3

De Haan

Starting from day three, you will spend a while in the coastal province of West-Flanders. We selected some of the wildest and most beautiful beaches in De Haan which are ideal for shorebird photography and on a good day even seals.

Day 4

Fort Napoleon

The next day will be spent at the beach near the 18th-century fort. This beach is fully covered in shells, which might make the perfect image when birds are dancing around.

Day 5

Mariahendrika and Spuikom

After that, our journey goes on to Ostend, where seals can be found. In the afternoon, you can visit the water tower in Mariahedrika park to catch a glimpse of a falcon nest, or a fox den in Spuikom.

Day 6

De Blankaart

Before the tour ends, you can spend an afternoon in the swamps around the Blankaart. You can capture nice shots of wading birds herons and ducks.

Day 7

De Blankaart

On the last day, you will get a last chance to capture the great natural habitat of the Blankaart. After this, it is time to return to the airport.

Good to know

Pick-up and drop-off of the van are at a carpool parking near Brussels Airport.
Transfer from and to Airport is included.
The tour is done independently. Locations and routes are found in our roadbook and pre-programmed in the van’s GPS.
Travelling in a group is possible, but there’s a maximum of 4 passengers per van.
Camping spots are reserved close to the photography sites, so there’s no need to park next to the road.
For those who want extra guidance, we offer the services of local guides per day. This is excluded from the tour price and is an extra option.
